Just Like Her Daddy!

Gabbie received her very first bowling ball yesterday! JD and Jo, the owners of the local bowling alley, gave Gabbie a Disney Princess bowling ball! Now, it will be a while before she can actually use it since it weighs as much as she does, but I am sure that Kiley will get her out to the bowling alley as soon as he can! I am sure they will have lots of fun together using her Princess ball!

Thanks JD and Jo!

More of her baby bowling gang signs...

I think this one means, "Dad, you chopped it!"

Wild Hippie Hair!

“Wild Hippie Hair!” That is how Kiley described Gabbie’s hair once she came out. Boy, was he right! Her hair is crazy! It is pretty short on the top and sides, long on the crown and the back. The long hair on the crown has a mind of its own! It sticks straight up! You couldn’t really get the full gist of it in the other pictures since the background is usually dark, so we took these photos to show just how crazy it really is! But, oh, how we love it!
I love the squirmy faces they make!

Two Weeks Already?!?!?

Her two week old pic! She is definitely growing!
WOW! I can’t believe that Gabbie is already two weeks old! It seems like just a couple of days ago that I was telling Kiley that by the end of the month we would have a little baby here in the house. I have to say that we could not have asked for a better baby. She is great! She is eating well, sleeping well, and just as sweet and content as could be. Even I am getting to sleep quite a bit!

She had to go into the doctors for her follow-up test today. She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz at birth, dropped to 6 lbs 12 oz at her first doctor’s appointment. Today she weighed 7 lbs 6 oz, so she is doing great!

Here are some pics that we have taken over the past couple of days! She sure has grabbed the heart of all of us! What a sweetheart!

Gabbie with Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Dianne. They left last Saturday. I cried and Gabbie cried! Thanks for all your love and support!
I love how she is always moving and playing with her hands!

Hanging with her dad! He is so good to help with everything... feeding, burping, bathing, changing.

Grandma Vicky & Grandpa Charles

Grandma Vicky and her little bundle of joy!

Kiley, Grandma Vicky, and Gabbie!

Few have been as excited about this new little arrival as Grandma Vicky! In fact, when Kiley and I told her we were engaged, her first response was, “You mean I may actually get to be a grandma?!?” Her toast at our wedding, “May your troubles be small, like grandchildren!” Now, that was over 4 years ago, but I guess her prayers were finally answered in the form of Gabbie!

In fact, once Gabbie had arrived, Grandma Vicky celebrated her exciting news by taking Grandma cookies to school! She couldn't be more proud!

"She is perfect! Just perfect!" The sentiment felt by all!

Grandma Vicky and Grandpa Charles made the trip to visit us this past Sunday. Even with the bad weather, they were determined to make it out to see Gabbie! Well, it is safe to say she didn’t disappoint. They thought she was perfect! Grandma Vicky kept saying it is amazing how this one little life is going to change so many others. It is true!

Grandma Vicky, Grandpa Charles, Kim, Kiley, and Little Gabbie!

I think they would both say it was worth the trip! We can’t wait for them to be able to come back and spend more time with us!
A special photo of Gabbie with both her Grandma's! Can a little girl me more loved?

The Traditional First Bath

It has been a huge blessing and help to have my parents here since Gabbie has been born. My mom has cooked, done laundry, dishes, and gotten up at 2 am when I needed to just lay my head on a pillow. Even more, it has been great to have someone here to talk to you and make sure I am doing okay for my first week or so as a mom.
Gabbie even got to participate in the traditional first bath given by Grandma Dianne. My mom has done this for all of Janet’s and Amy’s kids their first bath. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the other older grandkids also participated in this tradition!

She doesn't love being cold or naked. Needless to say, the bath wasn't her favorite activity so far!

Warmth and clothing at last! She survived!

Here are some pics of Gabbie’s first bath! She did pretty good! I think she will like her baths even more once we can immerse her all the way.
