A Day at the Fair!

This was our first year attending the Lamoille County Fair. We had heard that they had animals and a train, so we figured we would take Gabbie and see what it was all about.

It was really more a craft fair with lots of booths selling crafty items. They also had a lot of food booths. We didn't know this and had a big breakfast prior to going, so we settled for an ice cream cone --
Gabbies first!

She liked it!

We were a little surprised to find that the train was only suitable for little kids. We thought it would be something we could ride with her.

We debated and decided that we would give it a go. We weren't sure if she would like it or try and climb out.

She loved it!
And rode it twice. She would have ridden it all day, had we let her!
Here she is below. I don't know how well you can see the smile on her face, but she was loving the train! She is getting so big and grown up!
For the record, there were no animals!
Well, except for the horses we saw walking from our car to the fair.

I also think we will go again next year!

Relay for Life 2010

Yesterday was the Relay for Life here in Elko held at the high school. It is a relay event where teams ensure that at least one member of the team is on the track walking from 4:00 pm on Saturday to
9:00 am Sunday.

Teams also have different fundraisers going on throughout the event. Kiley, Gabbie and I got there right about 4:00 yesterday and walked for a little bit. We also took advantage of the different fundraisers and let Gabbie play some of the games. She had a great time! Then we headed home.

My scheduled time to walk was at 2:00 am. So, after sleeping a little, I got back up and was back at the track at 2:00 am. My good friend Karen Harris was kind enough to walk with me. So from 2:00 am to 3:00 am, we walked the Elko High School track. Lots of people just make a night of it and pitch tents on the football field. One guy was literally sleeping on the inside lane of the track! Have no idea how he managed that... no way I could actually sleep with people walking by me and the lights on all night. But it was fun to participate and I actually enjoyed my middle of the night time slot.

Best part is that we raised a lot of money for cancer research! Newmont had 2 teams and together we raised over $14,000.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO SUPPORT ME!
Gabbie and I raised over $700!

Heres to you Steph! We walked in your honor!

In honor of my sister, Stephanie - Relay for Life 2010

Gabbie and I will be participating in the The American Cancer Society - 2010 Relay For Life of Elko, NV, this June 26. We will be walking in honor of my sister, Stephanie Densley, and our many other loved ones who have been affected by cancer.

Please support Gabbie and me by making a donation. We have currently raised $550 towards our $1,000 goal. A donation in any amount is appreciated and makes a difference.

It amazes me as I sit here and think of all the many people I know who have been impacted my cancer. I have many loved ones whose lives were cut short due to this devastating disease. I have others who beat the disease after a long, hard battle. I don't think I know anyone who hasn't been impacted by cancer in some way.

For those who have already made a donation, Thank You!

Ready for the Big Time!

This was Gabbie this morning. Kiley said she looked like real estate agent from a Real Housewives episode.

I just thought she looked cute and a little sassy!

You Spin Me, Right Round, Baby...

Right Round, like a record baby, right round, round, round!

Yes, this is the song that plays inside my head as I watch my daughter do this...

And then I think about all the times my sisters and I would spin and spin until we couldn't stand up. Maybe she is my daughter, after all?!?!?

Kiley, the King!

Kiley bowled in the Nevada State Bowling Tournament in May.
He took 1st place in singles and doubles! His team took 8th!

Gabbie and I are very proud of him! He worked really hard this year and it all paid off!
He knew he could do it and he did!

WE LOVE YOU, KILEY! You will always be King in this house!
(but just know you have a very strong Queen living here as well!)

Our Rockin Mama!

Well, as we have mentioned previously, Gabbie loves rocks. She loves to scoop them up and put them in a bucket. She loves to everything about them. I always ask her if they have gold in them, but so far she is still in the exploration stage... no gold yet!

I think we need a yard!

We have also had a new addition to the family. "Baby" arrived in Boise, ID on May 29. To date, her name is "Baby" and she receives much love from her sweet little mommy.

It is so fun to watch her play and learn. She is getting so grown up! I tell Kiley nearly everyday, "She isn't our baby anymore, she is our little girl!" I am so enjoying this stage and truly wish it would slow down, just a bit.
